Arts for Connection Series at HSBC

Creative arts workshops at HSBC helped working parents explore emotions, release stress, and practise self-care through movement, music, and art.

🎨 Arts for Connection Series at HSBC

Balancing a career and family is a marathon, and while we often focus entirely on our children's needs, we cannot forget that parental self-care is a necessity, not a luxury. In April, it was an absolute pleasure hosting the Arts for Connection workshops at HSBC Main Building and HSBC Centre to remind everyone that creative arts offer an active release from stress—which is often much more restorative than simply resting or sleeping.

Across our workshops, participants explored how non-verbal expression, while sometimes feeling a bit uneasy or unfamiliar at first, provides a deeply safe space to express what words cannot. Through movement, sound, visual arts and mindfulness, participants were able to visualize their emotions and feelings, actively release pent-up tension, and support emotional grounding.

On April 28 2026, we also held a Creative Arts in Parenting Open Studio. For staff who couldn't attend the full workshops, this provided the perfect opportunity to drop by, meet the team, and enjoy a simple hands-on, creative experience with arts materials and music instruments.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated. Your engagement proves that when we take the time to create, we make a safe space to heal and support our families.

We care deeply about mental health and believe that by using creative arts, we create a safe space to heal, support, and express ourselves.
